China funds school meals in Uganda's Karamoja region through UN's WFP, benefiting over 165,000 children.
China has provided funding to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) for school meals in Uganda's Karamoja region, benefiting over 165,000 children. This initiative is part of China's commitment to food security, human capital development, improving livelihoods, and boosting the local economy in Uganda. Funding will enable WFP to procure local maize, beans, and vegetable oil, supporting both school children and smallholder farmers, and stimulating the local economy through the WFP's Home-Grown School Feeding initiative.
