Alliance MLA Patrick Brown has resigned from his South Down seat due to personal reasons. Brown, who was the first Alliance MLA for the South Down constituency, was elected in 2022 and has previously been a member of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. The Alliance Party has expressed gratitude for Brown's service and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
