The Albanese government has invested $500M in next-generation air missile defence, with Lockheed Martin Australia contracted to deliver the Joint Air Battle Management System. This project, known as AIR6500, is expected to generate at least 230 direct jobs and more during construction, while also creating 300 indirect jobs in Australia's air and missile defence supply chain. This investment is aimed at strengthening national security and providing the Australian Defence Force with necessary capabilities to enhance safety.
