An Auckland fish dealer, Cheuk Kin Chung (67), was fined $2000 and ordered to complete 40 hours of community work after failing to provide accurate sales records for pāua he was purchasing. The charges were filed under the Fisheries Act (Recordkeeping Regulations 1990) following a successful prosecution by Fisheries New Zealand. The inspection of his records in October 2022 found 51 invoices not in compliance with regulations.
