West Bengal Governor, C V Ananda Bose, appointed Professor Bhaskar Gupta as new Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University, as recommended by the state government. The appointment follows the university being without a permanent VC since April 2023, when previous VCs' tenures ended. Education minister Bratya Basu welcomed the news, expecting positive changes under Gupta's leadership.
