Switzerland freezes 5.8 billion Swiss francs of Russian assets .

Switzerland has frozen a total of 5.8 billion Swiss francs ($6.36 billion) worth of Russian assets by the end of 2023, a decrease from the 7.5 billion francs in assets frozen at the end of 2022. The reduction is mainly due to a drop in the market value of shares and financial assets that have been blocked. The Swiss government has adopted all European Union sanctions against Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine.
