Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments about the Congress party taking away people's gold and mangalsutras. She said her mother, Sonia Gandhi, sacrificed her mangalsutra for the country, and her grandmother, Indira Gandhi, donated her gold during the war. Priyanka Gandhi urged people to decide what kind of politics they want and not be swayed by "cheap talk".
