Nova Scotia Power CEO estimates a $700m scaled-down Atlantic Loop electrical grid project, which carries power from future renewable energy projects between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, is crucial for closing coal plants and achieving 80% renewable energy by 2030. Total cost could double to $1.4bn if extended to Point Lepreau, NB. The province previously opted out of the larger Atlantic Loop proposal.
