Ghana's Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, announced plans to establish a single revenue collection account for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to streamline revenue management and improve transparency. The ECG was operating about 61 separate accounts, which was deemed unaccountable. This move is aimed at addressing the challenges faced by the cash waterfall mechanism, a system introduced in July 2017 to streamline revenue collection and distribution in Ghana's energy sector.
