California announces its first new state park in a decade, Dos Rios, set to open in June near Modesto. This 1,600-acre park, California's 281st, is located at the confluence of the San Joaquin and Tuolumne Rivers, and will offer hiking, picnicking, and future swimming and boating access. The park is considered a significant contribution to climate resilience, being the site of the state's largest floodplain restoration project.
