Buffalo Sabres re-hire former head coach Lindy Ruff to address 13-season playoff drought.
The Buffalo Sabres have re-hired former head coach Lindy Ruff to lead the team for a second time, in an effort to end their 13-season playoff drought. Ruff, a five-time NHL coach of the year, previously coached the Sabres from 1997 to 2013 and has the fifth-most regular-season victories in league history. General Manager Kevyn Adams believes Ruff's experience and track record will benefit the team moving forward.
