The British Columbia government is investing $25 million in a milk production plant expansion by Vitalus Nutrition in Abbotsford, aiming to increase local milk production by 50%, to 1.4 billion litres annually. This project will boost local production of dairy products such as butter, which is currently required to be shipped from Eastern Canada to meet local demand. The expansion will also create up to 100 new jobs at the site.
