Northern Territory government signs a 9-year supply deal with Tamboran Resources for fracked gas from Beetaloo Basin, starting in 2026.

The Northern Territory government has inked a deal with US gas company, Tamboran Resources, to buy fracked gas from the Beetaloo Basin, a large shale gas field near Darwin. The nine-year supply agreement is set to commence in 2026, providing the NT with 40 terajoules of gas per day. The deal aims to "secure power for years to come" and "back the growth of the Territory's on-shore gas industry".
