Zimbabwe seeks $2bn bridge financing to clear arrears with World Bank and AfDB.
Zimbabwe seeks US$2bn bridge financing to clear arrears with the World Bank and African Development Bank (AfDB), according to Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube. The country owes US$1.5bn to the World Bank and US$680m to AfDB, which have halted cheap financing due to unpaid arrears. Ncube said Zimbabwe needs a sponsor to provide a bridging loan for 24 hours, aiming to clear both World Bank and AfDB arrears together.
