Zambian lead poisoning claimants have been granted permission to appeal a previous court ruling dismissing their class action lawsuit against Anglo American. The Johannesburg High Court's decision allows the plaintiffs from Kabwe, Zambia, who allege lead poisoning from a former Anglo-American mining operation, to take their case to a higher court. Anglo American maintains it is not responsible for the pollution and plans to oppose any appeal.
