52-year-old Richard Pledger was found dead from a gunshot wound in a Statesville home early Sunday morning. Police responded to a 911 call at around 12:25 a.m. in the 600 block of Stewart Court. The Statesville Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigations Division are investigating the incident, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the department at 704-878-3406.
