65-year-old Juliet, the world's oldest known manatee, died at ZooTampa's manatee critical care center.
One of the world's oldest known manatees, Juliet, died at ZooTampa at Lowry Park. Estimated to be 65 years old, Juliet was transferred from Miami Seaquarium to receive medical care at the David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center, one of only four critical centers in the US for advanced manatee care. Juliet, who weighed 3,045 pounds, left a lasting legacy for manatee conservation and education.
