Gogglebox star George Gilbey died after falling 80ft through a plastic skylight while working on a roof, an inquest heard. The 40-year-old, who appeared on the Channel 4 series alongside his mother Linda McGarry and stepfather Pete McGarry, died from traumatic head and torso injuries at the scene in Shoeburyness, Essex, on March 27. Essex senior coroner Lincoln Brookes opened and then immediately suspended the inquest due to an ongoing criminal investigation.
