UGC allows 4-year undergraduate degree holders to directly apply for PhD through NET with 75% minimum requirement.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that students with four-year undergraduate degrees can now directly apply for the National Eligibility Test (NET) to pursue a PhD. Previously, a master's degree was required, along with a minimum of 55% marks. For PhD entry, students must now achieve a minimum of 75% in their four-year undergraduate course or equivalent grades. The NET exam will be conducted in offline mode on June 16th for all subjects.
