19th-century silver casket, possibly owned by Mary, Queen of Scots, goes on tour in Scotland.

A restored silver casket, possibly owned by Mary, Queen of Scots, is going on a mini tour in Scotland. Acquired by National Museums Scotland for £1.8 million in 2022, the casket is thought to have been given to Mary by her first husband, François II of France. It is set to be displayed at Kirkcudbright Galleries from November 2 to April 27, 2023, and subsequently at Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum.
