Queensland will receive $7 million for early warning flood infrastructure, with 170 projects planned across the state to improve flood defences. The federal government funding will provide new river height gauges, cameras, signage and sensor technology in flood-prone areas. This infrastructure aims to provide earlier flood warnings and more comprehensive information, enhancing disaster resilience in affected regions. Over 20 Queensland councils will receive $235,000 each for new flood warning infrastructure.
