Indonesia's trade balance surplus surged to $4.47bn in March, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), marking its 47th consecutive month with a trade surplus since May 2020. In March, the total export value fell by 4.19% year-on-year to $22.43bn, while import value dropped by 12.76% year-on-year to $17.96bn. The trade surplus was driven by strong monthly export growth and an unexpected drop in imports, resulting in a $4.47bn trade surplus, higher than the predicted $1bn from Moody's Analytics and $1.57bn from Bank Mandiri.
