Hyderabad: Cyberabad police arrested a techie, Ganta Sreedhar, for swindling people out of Rs 6.12 crore by promising gold investment returns. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) discovered the scam and charged Sreedhar under IPC sections 406 and 420, and Section 5 of the Telangana Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments Act - 1999. The 40-year-old allegedly conned 13 victims, including office colleagues.
