A Virginia State Police trooper, M. Lesage, was seriously injured after a head-on collision with a wrong-way, intoxicated driver, Elijah Jones, on Interstate 64 in James City County. Multiple reports of a wrong-way driver led to Trooper Lesage's attempt to stop Jones. The 26-year-old Jones was charged with driving under the influence, having an open container, and causing Lesage's injuries.
