The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued yellow alerts for thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places on 22 and 23 April in several parts of Himachal Pradesh. The IMD also predicts above-normal rainfall during the southwest monsoon season, with estimates indicating up to 106% of the Long Period Average.
