A raccoon caused a power outage on April 20 in Oak Creek and South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, affecting around 16,000 We Energies customers. The animal came into contact with equipment at a substation, leading to the outage. We Energies restored power to about 8,000 customers by 10pm and aimed to restore the rest by midnight. Animal-related incidents account for about 10% of We Energies' power outages annually.
