Off-duty policewoman killed by car at Helena Bay intersection; Serious Crash Unit investigates.
Off-duty policewoman dies after being hit by a car at an intersection in Helena Bay, Northland. Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.15pm, where the vehicle left the road, collided with a power pole and hit the pedestrian, who died at the scene. The Serious Crash Unit investigated, and the road has reopened; however, drivers are advised to exercise caution as contractors work on the damaged power pole.
