Lance Stroll was given a "very harsh" 10-second penalty and two penalty points after a "chain reaction" incident in China forced Daniel Ricciardo to retire his damaged RB car. The collision occurred while the field bunched up in the penultimate corner during a Lap 27 restart, causing McLaren's Oscar Piastri to also sustain rear-end damage when Ricciardo's car was pushed into him. The stewards blamed Stroll for not taking more care to avoid the contact.
