Kenya's Alexander Mutiso Munyao won the London Marathon, beating Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele in a time of 2 hours 4 minutes 1 second. The race paid tribute to last year's winner, Kelvin Kiptum, who died in a car accident. Bekele, a three-time Olympic track champion, finished 14 seconds behind Munyao, while Britain's Emile Cairess claimed third place.
