Elon Musk's companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), and The Boring Company, have billed each other around $9.1 million in expenses over the past year, according to regulatory filings. Musk's security company also billed Tesla $2.9 million for his personal security expenses. Tesla's stock price has dropped 40% year-to-date, prompting the company's board to ask investors to reauthorize Musk's $45 billion stock options package in June.
