China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that China is ready to work with Papua New Guinea to build a comprehensive strategic partnership of higher level and better quality. Wang made these remarks during his visit to Papua New Guinea and highlighted China's view on PNG's role and its abundant natural resources in the Pacific region. Wang also emphasized that the South Pacific region should not become an arena for major power rivalries and that China's assistance to countries there is free of political conditions.
