2 childhood friends, Lucy Bradlow and Bronwen Bock, propose job-sharing as Australia's first potential MPs for Higgins.

Lucy Bradlow and Bronwen Bock, childhood friends, are running as Australia's first potential job-sharing MPs for the inner Melbourne seat of Higgins. The job-sharing approach, which has not been replicated in any similar nation, would involve them splitting official duties, traveling to Canberra on alternate weeks, and making joint decisions on key issues. Constitutional expert Kim Rubenstein believes the Electoral Act and the Constitution do not bar two people being elected to a single seat, but changes to electoral nomination processes would be needed to allow for two candidates on the form.
