UK's Brighton Council approves annual multi-faith event to commemorate Indian soldiers' role in World Wars I and II at the town's India Gate memorial. The India Gate, presented to the people of Brighton in 1921 as a gesture of thanks for treating wounded Indian soldiers, will debut the event in October. The memorial, located at the southern entrance of the Royal Pavilion, was one of three buildings in Brighton serving as a base hospital for these soldiers.
