34-year-old Tyler Smith, a former healthcare worker in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for abusing disabled patients. Along with co-worker Zachary Dinell, Smith targeted 13 residents with severe physical and intellectual disabilities between June 2016 and September 2017, punching, kicking, and using irritants on them. Both Smith and Dinell exploited their one-on-one access to the residents and their victims' inability to report the abuse.
