34-year-old Atmore man Derrel D. Williams died after his car left Highway 31 and struck a tree in Baldwin County, Alabama, on Friday morning. Williams, driving a 2010 Mercury Milan, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected. The crash occurred around 6:31 a.m., near the 34-mile marker, about seven miles south of Atmore city limits. State troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
