Salem City Health District has resumed certifying death certificates following a 16-day suspension due to former Registrar Terri Hunter's departure. The city was unable to certify death certificates from April 2 to April 18 as the new stamp for Interim Registrar Rachel Bowens was required. Hunter resigned after a request to reduce her hours from three days to one was denied by the board of health.
