The Philippines may receive US and Japanese support for a freight railway project after it halted negotiations with China for funds. The 50 billion-peso ($868 million) Subic-Clark railway, which connects former US military bases now serving as commercial hubs, is being proposed as part of the Luzon Economic Corridor, a concept developed during the inaugural trilateral summit held last week at the White House.
