Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif directs accelerated nationwide anti-smuggling drive. He praised Army Chief General Asim Munir for full cooperation against smuggling. A report from the investigation committee, headed by AD Khawaja, was also presented. PM Shehbaz lauded the committee for identifying elements involved in misusing Afghan Transit Trade for smuggling and officers facilitating them. He instructed Law Ministry to enact necessary legislation for this purpose.
