2024 Olympic torch spends a night at Acropolis, Greece, before moving to Paris for the Games.
The Olympic torch stayed overnight at the ancient Acropolis in Athens, Greece, a week before its transfer to Paris for the 2024 Games. Lit at the ruins of the ancient Games' birthplace in Olympia, southern Greece, the torch will travel around Greece via torchbearers before being transported to France. The torch will reach the southern French port city of Marseille on May 8 and travel through France leading up to the July 26 opening ceremony in Paris.
