The Nigerian government aims to produce made-in-Nigeria cars for local use and export by December 2024, according to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite. Currently, Nigeria produces less than 10% of the vehicles used in the country, with the vehicle assembling industry worth approximately N302bn. The federal government is providing an enabling environment and expects manufacturers to be held accountable for not meeting the target.
