China's March exports of gallium and germanium products fell below year-ago levels, according to customs data. This decline follows China's announcement in July 2023 to impose restrictions on exports of these materials amid tensions with the US over high-tech microchip access. In March, China exported 3.21 metric tons of germanium, a 31.8% decrease from March 2023. Gallium exports have also not yet recovered.
