Alberta RCMP warns of benzodiazepine-laced fentanyl (Bromazolam) linked to a fatal overdose, first detected in the province. Previously linked to nine fatal overdoses in New Brunswick, the fentanyl-Bromazolam mixture does not respond to naloxone treatment, increasing danger and potentially leading to more doses. 1,706 opioid-related deaths in Alberta in 2022, with 57 linked to benzodiazepine use.
