The University of Maine and Maine Community College System have launched a new program called Black Bear Advantage, aiming to streamline transfers from community college to the University of Maine. Students can enroll in both institutions simultaneously, working towards their associate's degree at a community college while taking an in-person or online course at UMaine each semester. Once they complete their associate degree, participants are guaranteed transfer to UMaine or Machias.
