On 8th March, FDLE's first ESD canine, Maple, passed away after aiding in over 100 deployments since 2019.
Maple, the first Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) canine of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), passed away on 8th March after battling cancer. Trained to detect chemical compounds in electronic devices, Maple worked in Pensacola and Jacksonville since 2019, aiding in over 100 deployments and the collection of around 200 pieces of evidence. Deputy Commissioner Matt Walsh called her a pioneer for FDLE.
