Texas Education Agency appoints conservators to manage Socorro Independent School District due to misconduct findings.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) appointed two conservators, Dr. Michael Hinojosa and Andrew Kim, to manage Socorro Independent School District (SISD) due to state investigation findings of improper student graduations, undisclosed conflict of interest, and unauthorized stipends totaling $283,000. The conservators will oversee improvements, conduct onsite inspections, and facilitate a needs assessment.
