RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das stresses the need to preserve success in controlling inflation and take it forward towards aligning with a 4% target on a durable basis. Despite concerns over geopolitical developments and food inflation risks, the MPC decided to maintain the repo rate at 6.5% to avoid disrupting the disinflation process.
