High Court in Ireland dismissed €12m damages claim by Maurice Kiely, who alleged writing U2's "A Man and A Woman."
The High Court in Ireland has dismissed a €12 million damages claim made by Maurice Kiely, who alleged he wrote a song called 'A Man and A Woman' featured on U2's album "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb." U2 Ltd, a limited liability company linked to the band, denied Kiely's claims, stating that the lyrics were written by Bono and the music composed by all four members of the band. The judge agreed and dismissed the case, stating that there had been "flip-flopping" by Kiely and that U2 Ltd was entitled to an order that its legal costs be paid by Kiely.
