56-year-old Sonia Nixon from Harrow, London, was jailed for 22 weeks for making over 2,000 calls to the 999 emergency line between 2021 and 2023. Nixon used 17 different mobile numbers to repeatedly contact the service, costing the Met Police an estimated £4,500 and impacting genuine emergency response times. She was also convicted of four racially aggravated public order offences against emergency workers.
