66-year-old Jean Poirier faces a felony animal neglect charge and 15 misdemeanor counts after Deschutes County Sheriff's Office seized 15 horses in poor condition from her property east of Bend, Oregon. The horses, aged 13 to 29, were found to need veterinary care, hoof care, and proper feed. Poirier's 17 dogs were in better condition and were not seized. She was arraigned and is due back in court in mid-May.
