2022 Vermont farms face ongoing recovery from last July's floods and extreme weather, with Dig Deep VT and the Vermont Farm Fund providing assistance to affected farmers.
Vermont farms continue to recover from last July's catastrophic flooding and extreme weather as they enter the 2022 growing season. Hundreds of farms are still impacted, with many facing lost crops, washed away soils, and damaged infrastructure. The Dig Deep Vermont initiative has offered micro-grants to 32 affected farms, ranging from $200 to $1,800, to assist with expenses such as planting new crops, feeding animals, and purchasing groceries. In addition to Dig Deep VT, the Center for an Agricultural Economy is offering no-interest loans up to $15,000 through the Vermont Farm Fund to help farmers recover from the devastating weather.
